On Monday, November 2, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), declared Abdulrasheed Maina, a former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team wanted for his alleged role in the fraudulent biometric contracts, through which he and former head of service, Steve Oronsaye, and two others mismanaged over N2billion of pension funds.

On July 21, Maina, Soronsaye, Osarenkhoe Afe and Fredrick Hamilton Global Services Limited were charged before a Federal High Court in Abuja on a 24-count charge bordering on procurement fraud and obtaining by false pretense.
Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson of the EFCC, noted that Oronsaye and two others were in court and pleaded not guilty, but Maina had been at large.
Reacting days after, Maina faulted the EFCC for declaring him wanted.
