There are indications that the Abia State governorship candidate of the  All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Alex Otti, has initiated moves to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure victory at the poll.
Otti was sighted on Wednesday night at the venue of the meeting of APC leaders where he held a closed-door meeting with leaders of the APC in Abuja.
The meeting which took place at the new Rivers State governor’s lodge on Hassan Kastina Street, Asokoro, had prominent leaders of the party in attendance.
The APGA governorship candidate emerged a frontline contender after running in a close contest with his rival, Dr. Okezie  Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the number of votes so far collated and announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the April 11 election.
It was learnt that as a last minute strategy to gain electoral advantage over the main challenger, Otti might have sought a working arrangement with the APC in the run up to Saturday’s re-run election.
THISDAY reliably gathered that the meeting might also not be unconnected with his possible defection to the APC.
